Curriculum

Ing.

Education

- Joint Research Doctorate in Fusion Science and Engineering awarded by University of Padova and Instituto Superior Tecnico of Lisbon in 2010-2013
- Master degree in Aerospace Engineering in University of Padova, 2009
Professional positions
- From 2013 to 2016 he was researcher in Consorzio RFX, a consortium of National Research Council, University of Padova, ENEA, INFN, Acciaierie Venete
- From 2016 he is Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato di tipo A at the University of Padova

Scientific Activity

He was granted a two year researcher fellowship (Eurofusion Researcher Grant, mid 2014-mid 2016) for the research project “Improving Efficiency in Neutral Beam Injectors for fusion devices” aimed at studying high energy particle beams, their transport and interaction with gas and materials. He carried out experimental research activities to study the physics of negative ion beamlets and background beam plasma at National Institute of Fusion Science, Toki, Japan; and experimental activities to study the ion beam formation and acceleration in electrostatic and magnetostatic fields at Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Naka, Japan; to study the ion beam formation, acceleration and transport in experimental devices at Consorzio RFX, Padova.
He participated to the design of the 40MW ITER neutral beam injector, contributing to the simulation of the ion beam interaction with background gas causing beam losses, mechanical components causing heat loads, optimizing the performances of the ion accelerator and the beamline. He is now working on the ITER prototype beam source, which started operations this year in Consorzio RFX, Padova. He is also coordinating engineering research tasks for the future DEMO device in the framework of EUROfusion.

Tesi proposte

- misure sperimentali dell'esperimento SPIDER (40A ioni negativi accelerati a 100kV)
